Slingdrop

Getting started

Introduction

What you can automate with Slingdrop: drops, reviews, file hosting, AI agents and webhooks.

Slingdrop turns files and folders into links. Everything you can do in the app, you can do from code: send a drop, publish a new version behind the same link, ask someone for feedback and wait for their decision, host files on a CDN for your own app, and get told when things happen.

Ways in#

Pick whichever fits where your code runs. They all talk to the same REST API and share the same API keys and limits.

What you can build#

Base URL and authentication#

The API lives at https://api.slingdrop.my/v1 (also reachable as https://slingdrop.my/api/v1). Every request carries an API key from Settings → Developer as a bearer token. Keys start with sd_.

terminal
curl https://api.slingdrop.my/v1/me \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SLINGDROP_API_KEY"

Responses are JSON. Errors come back with an HTTP status, a human-readable error message and a machine-readable code, for example { "error": "Daily API limit reached for this key.", "code": "rate_limited" }. See Authentication for keys, rate limits and OAuth, and Limits for what each plan allows.
